11/2  cup raisins

1 cup chopped figs

1 cup chopped dried pears

1 cup chopped walnuts

1 cup chopped almonds

1 cup chopped candied pineapple

1 cup chopped candied orange peel

1 cup chopped glazed cherries

3 dozen vanilla wafers

¾ cup icing sugar

200 grams butter

¼ teaspoon salt

1 cup honey


Place all the fruits in a pan, and pour two cups water over them. Bring to boil and then drain water. Wafers into fine crumbs. Add the nuts and candied fruit to the boiled fruit. Cream the butter and sugar together. Then add the wafer crumbs, honey and salt. Add this to the fruit and nut mixture. Mix well. Then press into a well greased cake tin. Refrigerate for 2 to 3 days before consuming.
