Ingredients:
3 small bread slices
1 liter milk
6-8 teaspoons sugar (more if required)
2 green cardamoms
Oil for frying
Few saffron strands
Method:
Cut off the sides of the slices. Then divide each into four squares. Place some oil in a frying pan and fry the squares, four at a times until both sides are golden brown. Drain excess oil by placing on kitchen towel.
Pour the milk in a pan. Add the cardamom seeds and saffron strands. Place on a medium flame, and reduce to half the quantity. Add the sugar and the bread squares. Take them out after 1 minute. Further reduce the milk until thick and creamy, enough to be able to coat the squares. Place the squares in a dish and pour the milk. Garnish with blanched almonds and silver covering if you like.
